Fakenham Auto Club Events Calendar 2008

Saturday 23rd August:  Fakenham Farmers Market –6 cars needed please from 9.00am to 12.30pm in town centre -contact Brian Monks.

Monday 25th August: Aylsham Show –for those who have pre-booked and wish to go as a group (to ensure we can park together)

we will depart from Brian Monks’ house at 8.40am–contact Brian for further information. 

Wednesday 27th August: Club Night Quiz and drinks and chat with members –just turn up from 7.30pm.

Sunday 31st August:  Police Gala at Norwich showground –pre booking needed –contact Bob Maple to see if any spaces left.

Sunday 7th September:  MG Memorial Rally –one of the best organised local rallies. Starts at Norwich Airport and finishes at

Snetterton for an afternoon of motorbike racing (Race Of Aces). The rally is about an 85 miles. Contact Brian Monks for details.

Sunday 7th September:  Walsingham Fun Day  -for those who cannot make the rally above we have an alternative event at this

traditional village fun day –Classic Cars, Tractors, Army Vehicles, Stalls, BBQ, bar etc, free admission but spaces are limited

–need to arrive by 12.30pm and event runs from 1.00pm to 5.00pm - Contact David Coles to book your place.

Sunday 14th September: Lowestoft Transport Museum –blow the cobwebs from your classic cars on this trip to the Tramcars Special Event.

This is a museum run by enthusiasts and the admission charge includes unlimited rides on this bygone age transport around the Museum grounds.

There is a small café, memorabilia stalls and a small Classic Car display is planned for the day.

Sunday 14th September:  The Ungworth Trosh –members who wish to attend are asked to contact the event organiser direct (Alan Whitam 01263 761156)

There will be displays of Tractors, a Ploughing Competition, Classic Cars and Stalls –Admission is £3.00 and you will need to arrive by 12.30pm to be part of the car display.

Sunday 21st September:  Classic Vehicle Show at Fakenham Racecourse; an event on our home ground organised through the

Association of Norfolk Car Clubs –for further details contact David Coles.

Wednesday 24th September:  Club Night –meet from 7.30pm.

Saturday 27th September:  Fakenham Farmers Market –as August above –please contact David Coles.

Sunday 28th September:  The Big Summer Barbecue –this was postponed from August due to inclement weather. There will be a BBQ, Archery and

Garden Darts tournaments, Tombola etc –all you can eat for £5 per head and ticket includes entry for draw for bottle of champagne.

All proceeds will go to club funds. Contact David Coles for further details and your ticket.

Friday 14th November:  NEC Classic Car Show –this is our annual pilgrimage to the car show of the year. We are hiring our own coach and the club is subsidising the

cost for those who book promptly. Contact Laura Read for further details.
