Gressenhall run - our first run out of the year to glorious sunshine. Thanks to Laura for a great day

Sunday April 20th St George’s Day Run  Theme of "Castles". - a bit of a cloudy day but a lot of fun, the route took us around two of the five castles in  Norfolk.

A lovely day was had by all. Thanks to Laurie and Anna for a great day

Saturday May 24th.

Several club members were invited by the Jaguar Daimler Trust and The Challenger 'E' type owners club to be Marshals at the Malcolm Sayer Memorial Exhibition Rally.

The day started on two sites in Cromer where Mr Sayer was born in 1916. The cars traveled on to Great Yarmouth in the afternoon, where he won a scholarship to the

Grammar School at the age of 11.

This day of celebration was the brain-child our President Mike Tomlin who also designed the Memorial Plaque. The sun came out and the day was perfect to honour

Malcolm Sayer's life and work. Over 50 invited cars attended the day and many more tried to get in on the action.

Fakenham Auto Club Annual Dinner.

Thirty four club members sat down to eat at The Hourglass on Saturday 28th June. In the words of the Chairman we had decided to "do different" this year,

replacing the tradition of the annual buffet dance with a three course dinner for the club annual awards evening.

The evening got underway as voting slips were handed out, members having until 9pm to vote for 3 categories, the Organiser of the most enjoyable event,

Club personality of the year and the Optimist award. The main course had been consumed with great enjoyment and all the voted had been counted.

The trophies were then presented before the dessert course. Terry Bunn collected the Fakenham Auto Electrical Rosebowl Trophy for the member who

had attended the most events. David Coles collected the Pearce Electrical Shield for Club personality of the year. Geoff Coley was awarded a prize for

writer of the most enjoyable article in the club magazine.

But the member of the evening was Pat Pearce who picked up three awards, the Alpha Trophy for Organiser of the Most Enjoyable Event,

the Wheelspeed Rosebowl Trophy for Organiser of the Most Successful Event and the Optimist Award for triumph in the face of adversity.

Well done Pat! It is great to have you back .

Then in came a cake with candles lit - a birthday surprise for Lynn! Twenty one again Lyn! This was a very friendly evening with good food and very good service provided by The Hourglass. There was a good raffle with prizes donated by club members. A basket of flowers was presented to Mike Tomlin for Jinny who was at home with a broken arm. As the evening ended Mike thanked Laura on behalf of the club for all her hard work in organising this important event in the club annual calendar.
